Matteo currently works mainly as science teacher at Liceo Filzi and Liceo STEAM International (Rovereto. Trento. Italy).
In 2006, he was selected as the Italian teacher for the EPO (Education and Public Outreach) program of ANDRILL, an Antarctic international paleoclimatic research. He then took part in the XXII Italian Antarctic Expedition. He has designed and coordinated several science and polar educational projects (polar schools, edu-app, etc.) and collaborated with different institutions like MUSE (Museum of Science of Trento, Italy) and MNA (National Museum of Antarctica). In 2016, he coordinated the RESEta project that brought a whole class of students on a scientific polar expedition, entirely self-funded. The resulting documentary was presented at the 65th edition of the Trento Mountain Film Festival (2017).
He’s an active member of the main European communities of science and polar teachers, such as: PEI (Polar Educators International), Science on Stage, Scientix, Europeana.
