Ana Tovey is a visual and digital journalist, turned science communications specialist. Her fascination for both science and the natural world and storytelling is what led her to study a BSc in Ecology, and BA in Film Studies and Anthropology. She developed her skills behind the camera through an MA in Visual Anthropology (Ethnographic Documentary) at the Grenada Centre for Visual Anthropology, University of Manchester.
Ana worked in community media in London before moving to outback Australia for 7 years for a producing and reporting role with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. She has worked as a visual journalist with Radio New Zealand, as Funding Executive with the NZ Film Commission, was a daily editor for the 1News digital content team where she produced several explainers about climate change impacts and climate adaptation, and most recently joined GNS Science as Senior Communications Advisor – Environment and Climate.
Ana is thrilled to be part of the SWAIS2C team and to help share the story of our adventure and critical science to audiences across the world.
