Luca is a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Physical, Earth, and Environmental Science of the University of Siena (Italy). He has Bachelor and Masters degrees in Geology, and he obtained his PhD at the University of Siena in 2022.
His research activity is focused on provenance study of glacial sediments in the Ross Sea. He investigates the gravel fraction applying petrographic, geochemical, and geochronological studies to reconstruct the source regions of clasts and their changes in response to past climate changes. His research interests also include the Paleozoic-Mesozoic sedimentary sequences deposited in the Gondwana supercontinent.
